The USDA Forest Service has legislative authority to recruit and fill Permanent (Career/Career-Conditional), Temporary, and Term Appointments under the USDA Demonstration Project. Under this authority, any U.S. citizen may apply.

This position is a Lead Forestry Technician (Timber Sale Prep) commonly known as a Lead Timbermarker on the Cold Springs/Poteau Ranger District. This position leads a marking crew of 4 or 5 Forestry Technicians as well as performs all associated duties of the timbermarking position, such as:
This position serves as a lead timber marker or marking foreman for a crew of up to four plus timber markers. The incumbent will perform timber sale preparation duties including, timber marking, timber cruising, and sale layout as part of the timber organization.
Salary wage as shown is for Rest of the U.S. (RUS). Specific wage rate will vary by location and may be higher or lower than the amount shown on the vacancy announcement.
