Salary:

GS 07: $43,738.00 - $56,863.00

GS 09: $53,500.00 - $69,545.00

Performs a variety of complex analytical work in the area of financial management such as:

  • Reviewing disbursement documents such as travel vouchers, covert direct advance vouchers, and draft requests for both commercial and confidential disbursements.
  • Extracting and analyzing financial information from a variety of reports generated through the Financial Management System (FMS) and other software programs and verifies the accuracy of the information.
  • Classifying, reconciling, recording, and reporting accounting data.
  • Liaising with customers to resolve discrepancies.
  • Providing consultative services on a wide variety of financial matters.
  • Formulating results for reporting to the Financial Manager or other Division management.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:

 

Qualifications for GS 07:  Applicants must have one (1) year of SE equivalent to the GS 05 grade level.  SE is defined as follows:

  • Performed analytical work in the area of financial management
  • Classified, reconciled, recorded and reported accounting data
  • Reviewed disbursement documents
  • Communicated orally with internal entities to resolve discrepancies

Qualifications for GS 09:  Applicants must have one (1) year of SE equivalent to the GS 07 grade level.  SE is defined as follows:

  • Performed analytical work in the area of financial management
  • Classified, reconciled, recorded and reported accounting data
  • Reviewed disbursement documents
  • Provided guidance/consultative services relating to financial matters
  • Developed liaison with internal and external entities

EDUCATION MAY BE SUBSTITUTED FOR SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE (SE) AS OUTLINED BELOW:

 

GS 07: One full year of graduate level education or a Bachelor's Degree with superior academic achievement (SAA). SAA is based on the following: (1) class standing, (2) a grade point average of 3.0 or higher as recorded on an official college transcript, or as computed based on courses completed during the final two years of curriculum, (3) honor society membership.

 

GS 09: Two full years of progressively higher level graduate education or Master's or equivalent grade degree (such as an LL.B. or J.D.)

Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the above requirements provided you can show that the foreign education is comparable to that received in an accredited educational institution in the United States. All degrees must be from an accredited college or university.

Probationary employees are generally precluded from being considered for all job opportunities until their 12-month probationary period has concluded.

    A Performance Improvement Plan (PIP) is a 90-day written developmental plan for an employee whose performance on one or more critical elements is rated "Unacceptable".

    All selectees, with the exception of current FBI employees, will be required to serve a one-year probationary period.

    Generally, following a COST TRANSFER you will be eligible for transfer after completing three years in the assignment.  Additionally, NO COST TRANSFER require a one-year assignment commitment to be eligible for further FBI transfers.

    Relocation expenses will be borne by the selectee, except FBI employees returning from Legat assignment.
