Position Location: 116th Maintenance Squadron, Robins AFB, Warner Robins, Georgia

Permanent Change of Station (PCS): PCS is not authorized.

Selected Reserve Incentive Program (SRIP): Acceptance of a Federal Excepted technician position of over 179 days in length will cause termination from the Selected Reserve Incentive Program (SRIP).

Type of Appointment: This is a full-time, Excepted Permanent dual-status, position which requires Georgia Air National Guard membership.

Job Summary: The purpose of this position is to supervise workers, either directly or through one or more subordinate leaders and/or
supervisors, in accomplishing the operations of a distinct organizational unit and to perform associated nonsupervisory work. The occupation and nonsupervisory grade level which best reflects the nature of the overall work operations supervised is Electronic Integrated Systems Mechanic, WG-2610-12.

Background Check:  Selectee may, at the option of the agency, be required to submit to criminal, credit history, and general background checks which will be evaluated by the agency prior to a final offer of employment and access into the Georgia National Guard Federal Technician or Active Guard/Reserve program.

National Guard Membership: This position requires military membership. It is designated for Georgia Air National Guard Enlisted incumbent(s) only. In accordance with ANG regulations, incumbent performs duties necessary to accomplish military TAG:Position Title functions in support of programs essential to state Air National Guard daily operations, training and readiness missions.

As a member of a Georgia Air National Guard unit, you will be required to train with your unit, normally one weekend a month and 15 days of annual training each year. Georgia Air National Guard units and members are subject to immediate call to federal or state active duty to meet national or state emergencies.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be a current U.S. Citizen.
  • Under 5 USC 2108 & 5 CFR 211, Veteran's Preference criteria does not apply.
  • Direct Deposit Banking is Mandatory.

  • Plans weekly or monthly work schedules and sequence of operations.
  • Assigns tasks to be performed.
  • Recommends and participates in the selection of personnel to fill vacancies.

  • Prepares for and participates in various types of readiness evaluations, inspections, mobilization and command support exercises.

General Experience: Experience which demonstrates that the candidate has the ability to organize assignments for subordinates, estimate material and manpower needed for specific jobs; able to explain manuals and work procedures; and to prepare production records, work records and reports.

Specialized Experience:  In addition to the journeyman level knowledge, must have 36 months experience which demonstrates the ability to plan, direct, and organize work assignments for lower grade personnel.   Experience which required the review of work requirements and establish priorities to meet deadlines.   Experience that provided knowledge of various lines of work performed by this function.   Experience which demonstrates the ability to supervise or the potential to perform such duties as evidenced by the ability to communicate knowledge of general supervisory concepts, and knowledge of shop processes.   Experience in adapting existing equipment and techniques to new situations.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs):  Applicants who meet the eligibility requirements will be further evaluated by the Selecting Official based on the following KSAs considered essential to perform the duties and responsibilities of this position.

  • Ability to plan and organize work of the electronics integrated systems function.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of electronics integrated systems functions and intermediate automated test equipment.
  • Ability to work as a team with superiors and subordinates.
  • Ability to oversee, train, mentor and deal fairly and objectively with subordinates and render sound supervisory decisions.
  • Ability to devise new methods and develop new processes in problem solving.
  • Ability to provide technical assistance to subordinate supervised.
  • Knowledge of repair cycle asset management and maintenance documentation.


Other Requirements: For positions requiring a security clearance (Secret or Top Secret) the applicant must possess or be able to obtain a clearance within one year of appointment. 

For positions requiring the operation of motor vehicles, applicants must have a valid State driver's license for the state in which they live or are principally employed. 

Position is a second shift position.

Selected individual must at the rank of or eligible for promotion to MSgt.

National Guard Compatibility: Once an applicant is selected and prior to being placed in the technician Electronic Integrated Systems Mechanic Supervisor position, the selectee must be assigned to any unit in the Georgia Air National Guard as an Enlisted in AFSC 2A071S.

Rank inversion is strictly prohibited.

Wear of the Air uniform as prescribed by AFR/NGB/GA NGR is required for incumbent of this position.  Acceptance of this position constitutes concurrence with this requirement as a condition of employment.

Preplacement Medical Requirements: Selectee will be required to undergo medical testing, at the government's expense, prior to beginning employment. Medical tests are used to determine fitness and eligibility for employment.

Optional Form 78 (Certificate of Medical Examination) will be used to determine the fitness and eligibility for employment. Upon review of results, the Human Resources Officer will approve selection, require additional medical information or find selectee medically disqualified for employment and withdraw said offer.
