GS-11: To be eligible at the GS-11 level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level.
Specialized experience is defined as experience that includes performing the
following types of duties: serving as an Information Technology specialist
responsible for the configuration, installation, or maintenance of network
systems; installing Windows based servers and maintaining existing servers; performing
network diagnostics and resolving network problems; maintaining network
architecture and infrastructure; and installing and maintaining compatible
Possess a PH.D or equivalent doctoral degree; OR 3 full years of
progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree AND this
education is either in one of the following fields OR provided a minimum of 24
semester hours in one or more of the following fields and required the
development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks: computer
science, engineering, information science, information systems management,
mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management.
Have a combination of specialized experience as described above and graduate
education as described above which when combined equal 100% of the requirements.
All academic degrees and coursework must be completed at a college or university that has obtained accreditation or pre-accreditation status from an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. For a list of schools that meet this criteria, see http://www.ed.gov.
