FLORIDA NATIONAL GUARD

NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED: This is an excepted position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the National Guard. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.  

This position is located at 202nd RED HORSE Squadron, Camp Blanding, FL

AREA OF CONSIDERATION: This position is in the Excepted Federal Civil Service "under the authority of 32 U.S.C. 709", and is open to members of the Florida National Guard and individuals who are eligible to acquire membership in the Florida National Guard.

INTRODUCTION: This position is located in the Command Section of an ANG Civil Engineering Squadron (RED HORSE). It supports various other assigned and/or attached units or operating facilities located on the base for support. Its primary purpose is the overall unit management.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  Responsible for effective unit management and accomplishment of the total workload necessary to provide essential services and support for the entire unit and attached units. Coordinates with military unit commanders and technician supervisors to bring about maximum utilization of unit personnel. Responsible for continued and effective management in all RED HORSE functions and phases to assure a sound program able to withstand close scrutiny and critical analysis. Conducts frequent inspections and workload analysis to obtain maximum utilization of available resources. Prepares for and participates in readiness evaluations, combined unit inspections and mobility and command support exercises.

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must have experience, education, or training which provided a general knowledge of principles of organization, management, and administration. Experience using computer and automation systems.

 

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-13 must have at least 36 months experience, education or training program or managerial experience in the field of engineering and/or facilities management. Experience developing and recommending policy, organizing and carrying out specific programs, evaluating and recommending changes in methods of operations. Experience in supervisory, staff or technical work which included study, analysis or evaluation leading to the development or improvement of managerial or administrative policies, practices and procedures. Experience preparing written communications and oral presentations 

 

COMPATIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: All applications will be considered regardless of Branch/AOC/FA/MOS.  Incumbent will be required to be assigned to and qualify in a compatible military position in one of the following:  AFSC:  30C0, 32E4, 60C0
