To qualify, applicants must possess both the Basic Requirements and Specialized Experience
A.Degree: physics; or related degree that included at least 24 semester hours in physics.
B.Combination of education and experience -- courses equivalent to a major in physics totaling at least 24 semester hours, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
Pay Band ZP-IV ($89,033 - $136,771):
To qualify, applicants must posses one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the ZP-III (GS-12 equivalent) level. Specialized experience is experience developing theoretical models appropriate to quantum information science, quantum simulation, quantum many-body physics and the theory of interacting atomic gases and/or dipolar molecules in optical lattices; experience creating and applying theoretical models and numerical methods to the aforementioned problems.
