Jesse Brown VA Medical Center is a 200-bed inpatient facility located at 820 S. Damen Avenue in Chicago. It also operates four Community Based Outpatient Clinics located in the Lakeside (downtown) area and Auburn Gresham (south side) community in Chicago, in Chicago Heights, IL; and the Adam Benjamin, Jr. VA Outpatient Clinic in Crown Point, IN, which serves the four counties of Northwestern Indiana.
The Jesse Brown VA Medical Center is a tertiary care facility classified as a Clinical Referral Level 1 facility, with bed serves in acute medicine, surgery, psychiatry, neurology and rehabilitation medicine.
Jesse Brown VA Medical Center is a teaching hospital, providing a full range of patient care services, with state-of-the-art technology as well as education and research.
Specialized programs exist in comprehensive cancer care and non-invasive cardiology.
Comprehensive health care is provided through primary and tertiary care in the areas of medicine, surgery, psychiatry, radiology, physical medicine and rehabilitation, neurology, oncology, dentistry and geriatrics.
Jesse Brown VA Medical Center is located on a 13-acre tract in the Illinois Medical District located on the near west side of Chicago. The site includes three projects constructed through an enhanced use lease agreement: a Chicago Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA) Regional Office Building, which opened in February 2004; a 1,560 space parking facility, which opened in November 2003, and an Energy Center, which was completed in 2003.
