The individual selected for this position will conduct research on cryptographic techniques and security mechanisms for computer, mobile device and network security. Develop methodologies for establishing trusted platforms; Pursue security solutions for cloud computing including big data. Develop NIST cryptography and security standards.

Basic Requirements: Applicants must meet the following basic requirements: Bachelor's degree in computer science or bachelor's degree with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science. At least 15 of the 30 semester hours must have included any combination of statistics and mathematics that included differential and integral calculus. All academic degrees and course work must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions.
In addition to meeting the Basic Requirements, applicants MUST also meet the following:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level (Pay Band III at NIST), in cryptanalysis on ARX ciphers and hash functions; research on steganography and digital forensics; research on tradeoffs between energy and security in wireless networks.
This position has an education requirement. You must submit a copy of your transcripts to document that you have met the education requirement. Unofficial transcripts will be accepted in the application package. Official transcripts will be required prior to a final offer of employment. Special Instructions for Foreign Education: Qualifying education from colleges and universities in foreign countries must be evaluated in terms of equivalency to that acquired in U.S. colleges and universities. Applicants educated in whole or in part in foreign countries must submit sufficient evidence, including transcripts, to an accredited private organization for an equivalency evaluation of course work and degree. A listing of these accredited organizations can be found on the Department of Education's website - http://www.ed.gov/international/usnei/us/workrecog.doc. You must provide a copy of the letter containing the results of the equivalency evaluation with a course by course listing along with your application. Failure to provide such documentation when requested will result in lost consideration.
