The reason for this term appointment is to accommodate special emphasis needed regarding Health Care Fraud. This position is being filled by a term appointment not to exceed 9/30/2014. The appointment may be extended, however the total appointment cannot exceed 4 years.
Serves as a Legal Assistant in the Criminal Division, Dallas Office, Northern District of Texas. Responsible for supporting one or more Assistant United States Attorney's by providing legal assistance and office support services. The work requires knowledge of the processes, procedures, and practices of legal support activities in conjunction with a knowledge of office skills, and an ability to apply these skills to increase the effectiveness of the assigned AUSA. The incumbent conducts a variety of legal assistance duties pertaining to legal actions, requests, or matters associated with health care fraud, to include fraudulently billed Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance companies for home health services, durable medical equipment, infusion therapy, physical therapy, and other health care related products and services.
