In order to be qualified at the GS-05 level, you must possess one of the following:
A. Have successfully completed a full 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree (a) with major study in an appropriate field of physical science (e.g. chemistry, physics, engineering, etc.), or (b) that included at least 24 semester hours in any combination of the following: physical science, engineering, or any branch of mathematics, except financial and commercial mathematics. - OR -
B. Possess one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-04 level in the Federal service, assisting with the implementation of natural resource management projects such as field surveys or inventories; collecting and recording scientific data using established techniques; and conducting research to gather information for use in scientific or technical reports. - OR -
C. Possess a combination of education as described in A and specialized experience as described in B that, when combined, equals 100% of the total requirement. (Please note that only education in excess of the first 60 semester hours may be used in this calculation.)

1. National Park Service (NPS) uniformed position. Employee will be required to wear a uniform and comply with NPS uniform standards. A uniform allowance will be provided to defray the cost of the uniform.
2. Applicants must possess a valid state driver's license. This position requires that you operate a government (or private) motor vehicle as part of your official duties. A valid State driver's license is required. As a condition of employment, you will be required to submit a completed GSA Form 3607, Motor Vehicle Operator's License and Driving Record. You must also submit (within a State sealed envelope or submitted directly by the State authorities), and at your own expense, all certified driving records from all States that discloses all valid driver's licenses, whether current or past, possessed by you. 1. Knowledge of collecting, analyzing, and compiling chemical, hydrological, and biological data as part of a multidisciplinary water quality program.

4. Ability to participate as a member of natural resource program, and provide effective oral and written communication in a polite and pleasant manner with employees, supervisors, program partners and the public.

Veteran's Preference applies to category rating. Within each quality category, veteran's preference eligibles are listed first, including CP, CPS, XP, and TP.
