DUTIES:

 

This position is located in the Joint Force Headquarters (State) under the J1 (Director of Manpower & Personnel). This position is under the general supervision of the J1, with direct access and advisory responsibility to the Adjutant General (TAG) on all Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and diversity management issues. The position's purpose is to provide guidance and advice to the Adjutant General, senior commanders and managers on statutory requirements relating to the entire EEO program. The SEEM is the principal point of contact (POC) with the National Guard Bureau's Office of Equal Opportunity (NGB-EO) and the local district office of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC).

Minimum Requirement:

Administrative, professional, investigative, technical or other type of experience which demonstrates the ability to meet and deal effectively with persons of different ages, races, and economic and education background; to collect and assemble pertinent facts, and to prepare clear and concise written reports

 

Meeting the months of experience requirement will not by itself be accepted as proof of qualification. Quality, type, and scope of experience, training or education must be demonstrated to show that the applicant is fully qualified to perform duties at the grade level announced. 

Specialized Experience: You MUST have 36 months experience in EACH of the following KSAs: 

1.  Experience, education, or training involving the administering, delivering, maintaining, advising, and adapting advanced concepts, principles, and theories of Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) to the unique organizational, management, and mission requirements.

2.  Experience assisting in the development of Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) policies and procedures.

3.  Experience advising management on Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and practices.

 


Substitution of Education for Specialized Experience: a maximum of 12 months of the required experience may be subsituited by successful completion of undergraduate study in an accredited college or university at the rate of 30 semester hours. The education must have been in fields directly related to the type ofg work of the position.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS: 

Employees selected for full-time positions that require mandatory training at the National Guard Professional Education Center (NGPEC) will have 12 months from the date of hire to complete the required course(s). Failure to complete NGB prescribed courses at NGPEC for new personnel within the first year of employment may be cause for reassignment or termination. 

Enlisted Cash Bonuses: Acceptance of a technician position may affect any bonus and/or educational assistance that may be applicable. Your bonus may be terminated and repayment may be required. 

Permanent Change of Station (PCS) cost is not authorized,  based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the interst of the Government. 

For positions requiring the operation of motor vehicles, candidates must have a valid state driver's license for the state in which they live or are principally employed. 

Employees selected for positions that require Information Assurance (IA) Training and Certification will have 6 months from the date of hire to satisfactorily complete the appropriate training and obtain the required certification/recertification for the position as outlined in DoD Publication 8570.01-M Information Assurance Workforce Improvement Program, dated 19 December 2005 (incorporating Change 1, 15 May 2008). Failure to complete the training and certification may be cause for reassignment or termination.
