JOB SUMMARY:

The Department of Energy, Office of Management, Office of Resource Management and Planning is looking for a highly qualified recent graduate to perform Budget analysis activities in the support of the Office of Management's mission. 

This position is being filled under the Department of Energy's Recent Graduate Program.  The Recent Graduate Program is a 1 year developmental program designed to promote careers in Federal Service who have recently graduated from a qualifying insitution or program.

As a Budget Analyst, you will:

 

  • Assists in the preparation of budget estimates, analysis and justifications
  • Monitor budget allocations for internal consistency and conformance with control totals.
  • Assists in the preparation of summaries of narrative, quantitative, and statistical data in budget forms, schedules, and reports.
  • Assists in review of preparation of briefing books, special reports, and budget briefings for Management.
  • Input data to the automated financial systems.

Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-7 level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as:

  • Education/training or entry level experience in Budget formulation, budget presentation or budget execution.

EDUCATION: master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree.

You must provide documentation supporting your education claims. Education must be obtained from an accredited institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
