This position is located in the Office of Administrative Services, Office of the Deputy Chairman for Management and Budget, National Endowment for the Arts, Washington, DC.

As the Support Services Specialist you will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Provides operational and technical guidance to other Support Services Specialists within the Office and serves as acting Director, Office of Administrative Services during that individual's absence.
  • Works with Director to develop policies and procedures governing the Agency's space management and records management programs.
  • Develops budget and cost estimates or reviews those proposed by other Agency employees, concerning rental of space, space improvements, maintenance, utilities, and services.
  • As assigned, acts as Contracting Officer Representative for contracts pertaining to space, facilities, alterations, renovations, telecommunications, and other services to assure compliance with specifications, terms, and conditions of the contract.
  • As directed, represents the NEA at meetings and conferences with key officials of GSA and other government agencies, and with private sector entities on matters pertaining to space management and utilization.

To qualify for this position, applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-09 grade level performing duties such as:  planning, organizing and implementing programs , policies, and procedures pertaining to records, space, property, and government facilities.
