This is a part-time 0.625 FTEE (50 hours bi-weekly) The Staff Physicians will be members of the Department of Medicine, Hospitalist Section and will participate in patient care, teaching, research and administrative activities of the Department, as assigned. 

  • Individual must have a record of investigator-initiated funding in Health Services Research and be a competitive candidate for VA research funding.

Specific anticipated responsibilities include:


  • Providing patient care and attending on the inpatient Medicine wards.
  • Providing patient care and attending in the Medicine Preoperative Clinic
  • Providing patient care and attending on the inpatient Medicine Consultation Service 
  • Providing patient care and attending on the Transitional Care Unit
  • Teaching and supervising patient care provided by trainees including medical students, interns, and residents in Internal Medicine.   Leading morning report on Mondays/Wednesdays and presenting in noon conferences.
  • Functioning  as “Medical Officer of the Day”
  • Participating in Process Improvement/Quality Assurance projects and other administrative duties as assigned.
  • Up to 6 months of clinical activities will occur outside VA administrative hours (8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Monday-Friday). 
  • Applying VA funding for Health Service Research
  • Other duties as assigned by the Section Chief or Service Chief.

Must be board certification in Internal Medicine.


Must have experience with provision of acute inpatient care or has provided direct care to acute internal medicine patients, as a primary clinical focus, within the past 2 years.


Individual must have a record of investigator-initiated funding in Health Services Research and be a competitive candidate for VA research funding.


Individual must have teaching experience in internal medicine in an academic center


The individual must be qualified/eligible to receive a faculty appointment in the Department  of Medicine.


Applicants must possess and maintain a current, full, and unrestricted license to practice in a state, territory or commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.


Applicants must be proficient in spoken and written English.

Creating your account -- User Name, Password, Secret Question

Creating an account is easy and only takes a minute. You will be asked to make up a User Name and a password. Then you pick the question you want for your Secret Question and type in the answer to it, in case you ever forget your password. That's it!

Email Address


Application Manager requires each applicant have a unique email address tied to their account. Your User Name must be unique. It can be from 6-20 characters including A-Z, a-z, and/or 0-9. Spaces are not allowed. These symbols are not allowed:"#", "<" and ">".

Secret Question

In this step, you will select a Secret Question that you want us to ask you if you forget your password and want to create a new one. After you select the question, you will enter the correct answer. If you later need to use the Secret Question because you have forgotten your password, the answer you provide must then exactly match the answer you give now -- this answer is case sensitive.

Things to consider as you select your Secret Question:

·     Personal information that you provide as part of your job applications in this system might be seen by anyone who can guess the answer to your Secret Question. If this matters to you, choose a question to which the answer cannot be guessed.
