DUTIES:

 

This position is located at Training Site Command.  Its primary purpose of the position is to provide production control to ensure effective and efficient use of manpower, materials, and equipment.

 

(1) Performing the operational duties of the Maintenance and Facilities Engineering which provides a central point for information vital to the accomplishment of the Operations and Maintenance mission. Monitors and controls the flow of work to ensure that the most economical and efficient use is made of personnel, funds, material and equipment.  Establishes in-house maintenance and repair priorities, and collates requirements with available resources.  Ensures that work schedules for in- service drill status personnel are coordinated to maximum productivity.  Revises schedules as necessary for accommodation of personnel attending technical schools and other training activities.  Controls the assignment and utilization of vehicles and equipment assigned to the Maintenance and Facilities Engineering in support of scheduled work.  Conducts reviews of work processes, workflow, and space utilization, notes problems, and recommends improvements to the supervisor.

 

(2) Maintains a backlog of essential maintenance and repair requirements.  Inventory data must reflect conditions, amount, type and descriptions of all facilities and RPIE.  Ensures that maintenance, repairs and minor construction work required in the foreseeable future is identified and programmed for in-service or contract accomplishment.

 

(3) Monitors the status of the Recurring Maintenance Program accomplished by in-service personnel and by contract.  Recommends recurring maintenance actions above the capability of the in-service or drill status personnel resources.

 

(4) Evaluates maintenance and repair requests for urgency, and schedules work/production accordingly.  Prepares work orders/job orders and introduces materiel requirements into the supply system in accordance with programmed start date.  Reviews work requests for validity, accuracy, and feasibility; and controls work request documents during processing and approval stages.  Refers work order requests that are not in compliance with established NGB policy or regulation to the supervisor, with recommended changes or proposed action.

 

(5) Maintains current status of all maintenance work in progress, programmed for future accomplishment, or in work stoppage status.  Identifies and documents maintenance support problem areas; and performs follow-up action.  Receives, responds, and/or routes incoming communications, as appropriate.  Adheres to internal communications routing procedures and provides or oversees timely response or action.

 

(6) Interprets ISR codes, and assesses the condition of structures requiring maintenance.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK:

Work involves planning, estimating, scheduling, and expediting the use of manpower, machines, and materials in the fabrication or repair of equipment and supply items by mechanical production methods.

 

GENERAL EXPERIENCE:

Must possess experience, education or training which indicates the candidate can reason in quantitative terms, communicate orally and in writing in a clear and concise manner, understanding the terminology and data pertaining to repair operations and process characteristics of the production activity.

 

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:

Must possess at least 24 months experience, education or training preparing job or work orders; scheduling various phases of projects into the production facility; following up to see if work is progressing as planned and arranging for adjustments in materials, machine processes, and work sequencing allowing for changes; and experience with current automation support programs to input data, provide status of equipment, and monitor job order status, monitor work priorities, requisition repair parts, track repair parts status, etc.

 

NOTE: Specialized experience will be used to determine qualifications for the announced position.  Applicants must provide begin and end dates (MM/YY - MM/YY) with description of your specialized experience.

 

MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Selected candidates will be required to be in a compatible military grade and assignment prior to the effective date of placement.

 

Enlisted applicant’s military grade cannot exceed the maximum military grade authorized. Over-grade applicant must provide a written statement of understanding with application, willingness to be administratively reduced in grade (state specific grade) if selected for this position.

SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:

A maximum of 12 months of the required experience may be substituted by successful completion of undergraduate study in an accredited college or university at the rate of 30 semester hours for 12 months of experience.  The education must have been in fields directly related to Production Control. 

EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS:

 

-    Technicians are paid through Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer (DD/EFT).

-    The Selected applicant must complete a “Declaration of Federal Employment" and "Declaration of Relatives in the Wyoming Military Department" prior to the appointment date.

-    Military Technicians are ineligible for military enlistment, retention, and student loan repayment bonuses. Acceptance of a Technician position will terminate these military incentives.

-    Acceptance of a permanent or indefinite position will cause termination from the Selected Reserve Incentive Program (SRIP).

-    Relocation expenses will not be paid by the Government unless noted in the Announcement.

-    Military Technicians in the excepted service will wear the appropriate uniform while performing as a Technician.

-    Veteran’s preference does not apply to National Guard Technician positions in accordance with Title 32 USC 709(f).

-    Indefinite employees may be terminated or displaced at management's discretion with a 30-day written notice.
