IOWA AIR NATIONAL GUARD

THIS POSITION IS RESTRICTED TO CURRENT MILITARY MEMBERS OF THE 185TH AIR REFUELING WING OF THE IOWA AIR NATIONAL GUARD.

LOCATION:  185th Air Refueling Wing, Sioux City, IA 

NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED:  This is an excepted position that requires military membership in a compatible military assignment in the Iowa Air National Guard. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of this excepted position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.

Develops goals and objectives that integrate organizational, supply, transportation and fuels objectives.  Establishes, reviews, and revises policies, procedures, mission objectives, and organization design for the staff as necessary, to eliminate work problems or barriers to mission accomplishment.  Delegates responsibility and authority to subordinates.  Provides advice, counsel, and instruction on work and administrative matters.  Provides guidance and policy direction in supply and equipment support for all  assigned units.  Develops plans, programs, and policies for the operation, management, and administration of current and projected organizational programs.  Assists in formulating policies, concepts, and procedures to ensure that an effective LRS operation is maintained using personnel, equipment, and funding to support the mission.  Directs the internal surveillance program to scrutinize the operations of all Logistics Readiness Squadron functions to ensure compliance.  Provides management oversight of the Logistics Readiness Squadron training program to ensure the effectiveness of the squadron enlisted on-the-job-training programs. Responsible for the oversight of squadron readiness and ensures reporting accuracy for logistical inputs for the Status of Resources and Training System (SORTS), Defense Readiness Reporting System (DDRS), and Air Expeditionary Force (AER) Readiness Tool (ART) reports.  Maintain a working knowledge of functional manpower requirements and documents, manning levels, and work with respective flight leadership to address staffing concerns. Ensures coordination with the Global Logistics Support Center and Major Command (MAJCOM) funds managers on the preparation and submission of the General Support Division operating budget.  Complies with policy and procedures in the management of stock funds.  Functions as an advisor to unit commanders, customers, and Financial Management in the interpretation and use of data produced by the Standard Base Supply System (SBSS) for management and budget purposes.  Develops and implements plans and methods to ensure optimum logistical support for financial operating programs within O & M and Stock Fund. GENERAL EXPERIENCE:  Ex perience, education or training in administrative, professional, or other work which provided a general knowledge of one or more aspects of the supply field. 

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:   Must indicate 36 months of the following type of experience:

  1. Experience which demonstrates ability to supervisor and/or manage supply personnel and a variety of supply functions.
  2. Experience which demonstrates knowledge in the entire inventory management supply system.
  3. Experience which demonstrates coordinating with other organizations oncomplex and controversial supply issues. 
  4. Experience which demonstrates ability to provide advice and guidance onsupply regulations to upper levels of management regarding supply functions.
  5. Experience which demonstrates ability analyzing, developing, evaluating to improve supply programs, policies, procedures, techniques, etc.


Substitution of Education for Specialized Experience:  Education in schools above the High Schoold level my be substitued at the rate of one academic year of education for six months of experience. Courses must be directly related to the work of the position. If education is being substituted for specialized experience, a college transcript must accompany the applications or resume.

A pre-employment physical or medical screening may be required for placement to this position.

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT:  Employment is subject to attaining and maintaining a security clearance as required by the position.

Failure to complete NGB prescribed courses at the PEC for new FTS personnel within the first year of employment may be cause for reassignment or termination of FTS.

Note:  Permanent Change of Station (PCS) allowance will not be authorized for this position.  Authorization for payment of PCS expenses will be granted ONLY after determination is made that payment is in the best interest of the Government.
