Salisbury is a small, historic city located in the heart of the Piedmont area of North Carolina with a moderate climate which enjoys four distinct seasons. Salisbury is a great place to work, live and raise a family. The City of Salisbury boasts 10 National Register Historic Districts with over 1,200 properties. It is located on Interstate 85 only 35 miles from the metropolitan area of Charlotte, and 40 miles from Greensboro, and Winston-Salem NC. Salisbury has grown from a small town to a nice small city of 26,548, and is the county seat of Rowan County. It is also the home of three colleges: Catawba College, Rowan-Cabarrus Community College and Livingstone College.
If you value the performing arts, you will not be disappointed in the Salisbury Area. It has the Salisbury-Rowan Symphony and the Meroney Theatre featuring the Piedmont Players, one of the state's oldest community theatre groups. Salisbury has a thriving and growing community of artists and new art space is being developed. Toyota Racing Division has chosen to locate in Rowan County. If you want a quick getaway, it is approximately two-hours to the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains and three hours to the Carolina Coast.
