This position is responsible for providing clerical, administrative and program support to the Director, Division of Management Services (DMS) and other staff in DMS.

You will provide clerical, administrative and program support to the Director, Division of Management Services (DMS) and other staff in DMS; use a variety of automated systems to retrieve and manipulate data using databases management, spreadsheet and graphic software applications; receive incoming calls and direct to staff members only those needing their attention or action; respond to routing non-technical requests for information; compile and summarize information from files; records, agency documents, data processing files, and outside sources to provide data needed for the preparation of reports and projects; produce a wide range of documents requiring the use of advanced software functions to enhance productivity or perform complex formats; prepare correspondence and other documents in final format, using correct punctuation, capitalization, spelling, grammar and style; serve as timekeeper for field staff maintaining records of leave and attendance; perform related mail and file functions; develop and maintain electronic recordkeeping and tracking logs for calendars, correspondence, projects, etc.; arrange meetings; maintain appropriate inventory levels of supplies and reorder required quantities from vendors when needed; schedule training for regional staff; procure equipment, furniture, office supplies, etc.; and make travel arrangements.

You must have one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level in the federal service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled.

For the CU-05, you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the CU-04 level in the federal or private sector. Specialized experience is defined as experience providing clerical and administrative support to an office. This includes experience receiving visitors or phone callers as appropriate; responding to routine requests; managing an appointment calendar; preparing written material; and utilizing office automation equipment/computer software to complete assigned tasks.

OR

Successful completion of education above the high school level in any field for which high school graduation or the equivalent is the normal prerequisite is creditable at the CU-05. This education must have been obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college or university. One year of full time academic study is defined as 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours, 45 quarter hours, or the equivalent in a college or university, or at least 20 hours of classroom instruction per week for approximately 36 weeks in a business, secretarial, or technical school.

OR

An equivalent combination of education and experience is qualifying for the CU-05 only. ONLY education in excess of the first 60 semester hours (i.e., beyond the second year) is creditable toward meeting six months of the specialized experience requirement. One full academic year of study (30 semester hours) beyond the second year is equivalent to 6 months of specialized experience. This education must have been obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. One year of full-time academic study is defined as 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours, or the equivalent in a college or university, or at least 20 hours of classroom instruction per week for approximately 36 weeks in a business, secretarial, or technical school.

For the CU-06, you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the CU-05 level in the federal or private sector. Specialized experience is defined as experience providing clerical and administrative support to an office. This includes experience receiving, screening, and referring visitors and phone callers as appropriate; responding to office or program-related requests; managing an appointment calendar; preparing and reviewing written material; retrieving and compiling data to generate reports; and utilizing office automation equipment/computer software to complete assigned tasks.

Typing Requirement: In addition to meeting the specialized experience, you must be able to type 40 words per minute. This must be documented in your resume/application.

OTHER INFORMATION:

If you are selected for this position at the CU-05, you may be non-competitively promoted to the next level through CU-06  level provided that you have fulfilled the necessary qualification requirements including any applicable certification processes. Promotion is not automatic and is conditional on demonstrated ability to perform the higher grade level duties, a current written performance appraisal rating of "fully successful" or better, fulfillment of the necessary qualification requirements, and sufficient work at the higher grade level position.

SALARY: Pay will be set using NCUA's Compensation policy. The salary range shown is NCUA's Local Pay Rate (LPR) which includes a locality rate of 16.73 percent for the Tempe, AZ geographical area.
