JOB SUMMARY:

The FMWRC mission is to create and maintain "FIRST CHOICE" MWR products and services for America's Army, essential to a ready, self-reliant force.

This position is located at the Youth Services, Fort Greely, Alaska.  Hours will vary to include early mornings and evenings.   Entitled to 7.18% COLA.

  • Serves as a team leader for program staff with responsibility for the assigned operation of a CYS activity and program IAW applicable CYS regulations.
  • Maintains control of anc accounts for the whereabouts and safety of the children.
  • Works with trainer and supervisor to implement activities and special events that meet the needs oof the children.
  • Interacts with children and youth using approved child guidance development techniques.
  • Interacts professionally with parents, program staff, school representatives and the Command
  • Conducts on-the-job training and instruction to team members.
  • Uses designation evaluation materials to ensure assigned are is in compliance with Army baseline standards.  Ensures assigned are achieves and maintains standards for DoD/Army certification and national accreditation or Army equivalent.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

ALL candidates:

Must possess High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
Must be able to communicate in English (verbal and written).
Must be 18 years of age at the time of appointment.
Possess and maintain the physical ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds, walk, bend, stoop and stand on a routine basis.


In addition, candidates must:

Meet Target Level requirements and satisfactory performance and

Possess eighteen (18) months experience working in a group program with children and

Possess and maintain one of the following:  Child Development Associate (CDA), Army School Age Credential (including Boys and Girls of America) or Army Practicum

OR

Possess twelve (12) months experience working in a group program with children and

Possess AA degree with major emphasis in childcare.

OR

Possess BA/BS degree with a major emphasis on ECE. Elementary Education, Child Development, Home Economics, Special Education or related behavioral sciences.


 


Conditions of employment:
