NEW HAMPSHIRE NATIONAL GUARD

MILITARY INDEFINITE TECHNICIAN VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED

THIS POSITION IS A TITLE 32 FEDERAL EXCEPTED TECHNICIAN POSITION.  YOU MUST BE OR BECOME A MILITARY MEMBER IN THE NEW HAMPSHIRE NATIONAL GUARD.

Current technicians selected will retain the appointment status they are currently in. (i.e., Permanent or Indefinite).  Individuals from Area II or Area III will be appointed Indefinite status.  Conversion to permanent status may be accomplished without further competition.

NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED: This is a Title 32 federal technician excepted position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment   in the National Guard . Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate military membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.

This position is located in the United States Property and Fiscal Office (USP&FO).   Its purpose is to plan, organize, review, evaluate and supervise the work of the office and to perform analysis of supply procedures, services, directives and management functions of the branch.

DEFINITION OF AREA(S) OF CONSIDERATION:

Area 1 = permanent or indefinite technicians currently employed with the New Hampshire National Guard.
Area 2 = AGRs or traditional/M-Day soldiers and airmen currently serving in the New Hampshire National Guard.

Area 3 = all individuals eligible for membership in the New Hampshire National Guard as a military member. ( NOTE:   Please call 603-225-1214 to ensure you are eligible to enlist in the NH Army National Guard as a military member BEFORE applying for this position)

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be willing to become a member of the New Hampshire National Guard.

Performs a full range of supervisory duties. Implements accepted provisions of personnel management such as equal employment, merit promotion, career development, performance appraisals, employee counseling, incentive awards and position management. Selects or contributes to the selection of subordinates. Listens to employee grievances and deals with union representatives as required. Establishes performance standards, authorizes leave and is responsible for time and attendance. Ensures adequate training is available for employees within the branch. Initiates formal requests for personnel actions. Ensures accuracy of position descriptions. Ensures a safe working environment for all employees in accordance with current safety and OSHA requirements/directives.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:  Experience, education, or training which has provided you with a general knowledge of one or more aspects of the supply field and have experience using computer and automation systems.
 

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE  (24 months experience which shows):  Experience, education, or training dealing with cost estimates, budgets or funding management; Experience conducting extensive searches for required information; reconstruct records for complex supply transactions; and/or provide supply operations support; Experience in managing the function of the work to be performed; Experience which includes leading, directing and assigning work of personnel.

Substitution of Education for Specialized Experience – High school graduate or the equivalent may be substituted for three months of specialized experience. Education in schools above the high school level may be substituted for experience on the basis of one academic year of study (i.e., 36 weeks or substantially full-time study or 30 semester hours or the equivalent.) for 12 months of the required experience.
School above high schools level means an educational institution (e.g., a business or commercial school or college, a secretarial school, a junior college or a college or university.) for which high school graduation or the equivalent is a prerequisite and in which an applicant successfully completed study which was not primarily limited to courses in word processing and keyboarding or both. Substantially full-time study in the case of business and commercial schools is the equivalent of at least 20 classroom hours of instruction per week. One academic year consists of approximately 36 weeks of substantially full-time study or 30 semester hours or 45 quarter hours.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities (KSA's):

--Ability to direct the work of subordinate employees in accomplishing the work of the unit.

--Practical knowledge of a wide range of well-established and commonly applied supply principles, concepts and methodologies in one or more of the technical supply specializations.

--Ability to perform recurring kinds of assignments, operations and/or procedures in providing services and resolving issues and problems of a procedural nature in supply operations, planning or program management. Utilizes knowledge of cost, existing policies and procedures in accomplishing work assignments.

--Ability to analyze information and trace sequence of transactions to resolve problems.

MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Selected candidates will be required to be in a compatible military grade and assignment prior to the effective date of placement.

THE FILLING OF THIS POSITION IS SUBJECT TO THE AVAILABILITY OF MANPOWER SPACE.

 

Reimbursement for PERMANENT CHANGE OF STATION (PCS) expenses is not authorized.
