Pharmacy Service has a vacancy to join our team of Clinical Pharmacists providing patient care to both our outpatient & inpatient populations. The clinical pharmacist is a licensed professional with knowledge and proficiency in pharmacy practice including pharmaceutics, pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics and pharmacotherapeutics. In addition, providing exceptional service to both external & internal customers & possessing extraordinary teamwork qualities are highly valued. The primary function of a clinical pharmacist is to assure the safe and appropriate use of medications, and to be an advocate of rational drug therapy through the following: evaluation of the appropriateness of drug therapy based on patient specific factors; individualization of drug therapy; evaluation, dispensing and providing medications, and drug information. The clinical pharmacist is responsible for analyzing real and potential drug-related medical problems and implementing corrective action to ensure that patients receive optimal drug therapy. The clinical pharmacist also applies standards relating to all aspects of distribution and control of scheduled and non-scheduled drugs. The clinical pharmacist may perform compounding procedures of routine and special medications including sterile products compounding. The clinical pharmacist assists in filling and/or checking orders for accuracy and final dispensing for pickup or mail prescriptions and upholds the regulations set forth by the Pharmacy, Therapeutics & Nutrition Committee in regards to administration of medication.

- U.S. citizenship.
- Graduate of a degree program in pharmacy from an approved college or university. The degree program must have been approved by the American Council on Pharmaceutical Education (ACPE), or prior to the establishment of ACPE, have been a member of the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP).
Full, current and unrestricted license to practice pharmacy in a State, Territory, Commonwealth of the United States (i.e., Puerto Rico), or the District of Columbia.
English Language Proficiency. Pharmacists must be proficient in spoken and written English as required by 38 U.S.C. 7402(d), and 7407(d)
The incumbent must be a graduate of a degree program in pharmacy from an
approved college or university. The degree program must have been approved by the
American Council on Pharmaceutical Education (ACPE), or prior to the establishment
of ACPE, have been a member of the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy
In addition, the incumbent must possess (and maintain) a full, current, and
unrestricted license to practice pharmacy in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of
the U.S. (Puerto Rico), or the District of Columbia.
In addition to meeting the basic requirements, applicants must have the equivalent of one year of
creditable experience comparable to the next two lower grade levels or completion of a 6-year Pharm.D.
