This is a permanent position located in Region 1, on the Spotted Bear Ranger District of the Flathead National Forest in Hungry Horse, MT.
The position serves as a Natural Resource Specialist (Recreation) with primary responsibility for the development of annual work plans and the execution and administration of short range plans relating to recreatiron, lands, trails, special uses, and minerals activities.
The Spotted Bear Ranger District is an "in/out" district the balance of the year the position works at the Spotted Bear Ranger Station at the southern end of the Hungry Horse Reservoir or at a Wilderness location such as Big Prairie Station or camped out. Travel time to Hungry Horse from Spotted Bear Station is approximately 2 hours by vehicle. The wilderness locations are up to three days travel by foot or stock from Spotted Bear. Housing at Spotted Bear is limited but will be provided and could be a bunkhouse, camp trailer, shared residence or singe-family residence. Single family residence are not guaranteed.
