This position is located in the Global Change and Photosynthesis Research Unit in Urbana, IL.
Major responsibilities include:
- Uses office automation software to produce a variety of documents including memoranda and reports.
- Establishes and maintains a variety of office records and files.
- Determines supplies needed for the office staff.
- Receives telephone calls and greets visitors.
- Arranges travel for staff and prepares and types orders, vouchers, etc.
- Prepare and process Time and Attendance records.
- Sort and distribute mail.

Applicants must meet all qualification requirements by Tuesday, February 12, 2013.
You may start at the GS-05 level if you have the following qualifications:
One full time year (12 months) of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-4 grade level of the Federal service or private sector equivalent performing a variety of clerical and administrative duties that included the use of word processing and other automated systems; a knowledge of grammar, punctuation, format and style to prepare correspondence, memorandums, and letters; maintaining reference manuals; developing and preparing a variety of reports; receiving and referring visitors and telephone callers, and maintaining office files. OR
Four full years of education above the high school level in any field for which high school graduation or the equivalent is the normal prerequisite. OR
Less than the four years of post-high school education, but a combination of post-high school education (in excess of the first 60 semester hours) and the specialized experience described above.
You must possess a typing speed of 40 words per minute.
College transcripts: If are qualifying based on education, submit a copy of your college transcripts that list college courses detailing each course by the number and department (i.e., bio 101, math 210, etc), course title, number of credit hours and grade earned. You must submit evidence that any education completed in a foreign institution is equivalent to U.S. education standards with your resume.
