The Pathways Internship Program is designed to attract students enrolled in a wide variety of educational institutions (ranging from high school to graduate school) with paid opportunities to work in agencies and explore Federal careers while still in school. This program exposes students to jobs in the Federal civil service by providing meaningful development work at the beginning of their career, before their careers paths are fully established.
The Office of Management and Budgets (OMB) Office of E-Government & Information Technology (E-Gov) is looking for an energetic self-starter interested in public policy. The candidate will work directly with government personnel from OMB E-Gov on Federal IT reform efforts focused on eliminating waste and duplication within the $80 billion Federal IT portfolio. MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: All applicants must meet the qualification requirements outlined below to be considered minimally qualified for this position. The qualification requirements are in accordance with the OPM Qualification Standards.
GS-05: Bachelor's or equivalent degree or at least one year specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-04 grade level in the Federal Service that included conducting quantitative and qualitative analysis; and preparing results to used by experienced personnel or a combination of the required experience and education for this grade level.
GS-07: Completion of 1 full academic year of graduate-level education or at least one year specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal Service that included conducting quantitative and qualitative analysis; preparing and presenting results; and managing the logistics of various activities or a combination of the required experience and education for this grade level.
SUPERIOR ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT: Must have been gained in a curriculum that is qualifying for the position to be filled. S.A.A. is based on (1) Class standing-applicants must be in the upper third of the graduating class, based on completed courses or (2) Grade-Point Average-applicants must have a grade-point average of 3.0 or higher out of a possible 4.0 based on 4 years of education, or as computed based on courses completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum or 3.5 or higher out of a possible 4.0 based on the average of the required courses completed in the major field completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum or (3) Election to membership in a National Scholastic Honor Society membership in a freshman honor society cannot be used to meet the requirements of this provision.
NOTE: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet Federal qualification requirements if the applicant can show that the foreign education is comparable to education received in accredited educational institutions in the United States.
