NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED:  This is an excepted position that requires membership in a compatibility assignment in the National Guard.  Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. DUTIES:Installs, modifies, overhauls, maintains, troubleshoots, repairs, rebuilds, aligns, and calibrates complete electronic avionics multi-systems such as the electronics package in a highly automated F-16 aircraft where the Enhanced Expanded Fire Control Computer (EEFCC) or General Avionics Computer, electronic multiplex communications bus, Inertial Navigation System, multi-function displays, Fire Control Radar System, head-up display, data transfer equipment, Global Positioning System, Litening II precision attack targeting pod, LANTIRN targeting pod, Situation Awareness Data-Link, Internal Data Modem, Integrated Countermeasures Management System, Digital Terrain System, Flight Control System, pitot-static system and related instrumentation, flight director instrumentation, Central Air Data Computer, engine, hydraulic and fuel quantity indicating systems, voice message warning, VHF, UHF radio, intercom, secure voice communications, Identification Friend or Foe (IFF), Tactical Air Navigation System (TACAN), Radar Altitude and Instrument Landing System, Crash Survivable Flight Data Recording System, Radar Threat Warning System, Chaff/Flare Dispensing System and electronic countermeasures pod and other complex functions which are performed by numerous systems and are extensively interconnected with data feedback loops and accomplish a number of major functions.  Troubleshoots malfunctions and analyzes system performance utilizing aircrew debrief data, Technical Orders, schematic and wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, data downloads from various systems, waveform analysis from Time Domain Reflectometer and Radio Frequency Transmission Line Test Sets, Multiplex Bus Fault Isolation Test Set, common and system-specific test equipment and built in system tests.  Removes faulty system components and line replaceable units (LRUs).  Installs serviceable components and LRUs or repairs faulty wiring as required.  Recommends hardware and software changes. Submits change recommendations to Technical Orders.  Provides training to lower graded personnel concerned with the repair of integrated avionics systems. Provides training to newly assigned personnel regardless of grade level.

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience or Training which demonstrates the applicants knowledge of electronic theories and practices to identify, isolate and repair malfunctions in one or more complex integrated systems where knowledge of the entire system is necesary to interpret error data and trace back throught a number of units of the system to locate deficiences.  Through knowledge of principles of digital and analog circuits, electro-mechanical devices, solid state devices digital techniques, synchro/servo operation and integrated circuit theory.  Ability to interpret and trace schematics, logic and wiring diagrams and use a wide variey of test, measurement, and diagnostic equipment (TMDE)

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:  Must have   18 months of experience or training in utilizing principles, basic functions and application of theory of electronic systems equipment.

KNOWLEDGE of electronic theories and practices as digital or analog computers, digital display devices which enables the incumbent to understand and predict the effects of subsystem malfunctions on the total function system.

KNOWLEDGE of the used of mathematics including trigonometry, to calculate power relationships signal phasing, etc.

KNOWLEDGE of the intgrated electronics systems and the interaction of the complete avionic multi-system complex on the F-16, F-22, A-10 aircraft.

Knowledge of the technology and practices which integrate the components of the systems which integrate the components of the systems into a total functional ystem to determine methods of repair where extremely complex relationships exist among numerous inter-connected units and control circuits not only within the individual control systems but between them as well and of mathematics including algebra and basic trigonometric functions.

SKILL in the set up and opeation of computer controlled Portable Automated Test Station (PATS), Joint Service Electronic Combat System Tester (JSECST), and test stands, oscilloscopes, (dual tace, storage, digitized) spectrum, network and distortion analyzers frequency counters, and signal generators, in interpreting complex drawings, specifications, and schematics of complete multi-system complexes such as the complete electronics package for an aircraft including numerous interconnections of signal paths both between and within individual subsystems of the multi-system complex, and in the troublshooting, installing, repairing, and maintaining electronic integrated multi-systems where circuit theory must be used to understand the operations of a large number of circuits and functions, and the interaction of subsystems which creat malfunctions.
