This position is located in the Facilities Maintenance Division, Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center , Twentynine Palms, California.

You will be responsible for performing maintenance and repair of grounds, exterior structures, buildings, and related fixtures and utilities.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • You must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be registered for Selective Service, see Legal & Regulatory Guidance.
  • Suitable for Federal employment as determined by background investigation.
  • Selectee may be required to successfully complete a probationary period.

·         Measure, cut, construct, install, repair and modify wood, composite, and wood substitutes to produce frame structures, decking, partitions, etc

·         Install, repair and remove concrete placement such as headwalls, retainer walls, pads, sidewalks, stoops, driveways and curbs

·         Maintain and repair equipment related to fencing, guardrails, gates, foot bridges, stair treads and overhead doors

·         Prepare floor surfaces and applies finishing materials using floor sanders, hand tools, brushes, rollers and other equipment

·         Inspect, maintain, repair, alter, and install Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration equipment (HVAC and R)

·         Schedule and perform backflow prevention field-testing of backflow prevention devices

The Screen-out Element for this position is:  Ability to do the work of a Maintenance Worker without more than normal supervision such as:  performing installation and repair of wood or wood substitute items such as doors, replacing wall paneling, hardwood flooring, siding, installation of shoring in trenches and ditches, and repair and removal of concrete placement.

REQUIREMENTS: 

Selectee is required to participate in the Department of Defense direct deposit of pay program.

Work requires frequent bending, stooping, walking, standing, working in cramped positions, and climbing.

Work requires lifting and moving heavy items.

 

Work is performed outdoors, often under adverse weather conditions.

 

May work in scaffolding or cranes at heights of 30 or more feet, or in close quarters such as manholes or attics. 

 

Subject to electric shock, cuts, and bruises. 

 

May be exposed to temperature extremes in test facilities, extremely high noise levels, and exposure to lead, radiation, chemicals, or carcinogens.
