The Recent Graduates Program offers opportunity for developmental experiences in the Federal Government. This program is intended for individuals who have recently graduated from qualifying educational institutions or programs. To be eligible, applicants must apply within two years of degree or certificate completion (except for veterans precluded from doing so due to their military service obligation, who will have up to six years after degree completion to apply).

The CDC Public Health Associates Program (PHAP) for Recent Graduates is a CDC workforce development program that provides opportunities for promising, future public health professionals to gain broad experience in day-to-day operation of public health programs.  The goal of PHAP is to attract exceptional candidates, with a minimum of bachelor's degree into careers in public health.  Upon completion this two-year training program, Associates are eligible for conversion to an entry-level career as CDC public health advisors.  Associates may also be eligible to apply for positions in public health operations at the local and state levels.

This position is located throughout the United States and its territories.  The exact location will be determined upon selection.  Candidates must have the ability to accept positions within any of the 50 US States and territories.  Additional selections may be made within the same geographical location.

The incumbent will serve as a Public Health Advisor in a developmental capacity supporting public health program operations.  These duties include case management; data analysis; data compilation; report writing; and conducting interviews with public health clients to obtain information of specific program areas. The exact nature and duties of each position will vary by location.

Applicants must have successfully completed a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's or higher degree within the past 2 years or will have earned a bachelor's degree by July 1, 2013.  Candidates still enrolled in school must provide school enrollment verification detailing pending degree completion.

Bachelor's degree from an accredited educational institution within the past two years or pending degree completion from a 2013 graduating class.  Degree must be conferred by July 1, 2013.

Grade Point Average may be used to assess candidates.

Conditions of Employment:

1.
