JOB SUMMARY:

Civilian employees serve a vital role in supporting the Army mission.  They provide the skills that are not readily available in the military, but crucial to support military operations.  The Army integrates the talents and skills of its military and civilian members to form a Total Army.

About the Position:
Red River Army Depot (RRAD) is locatedin northeast Texas, 19 miles west of Texarkana and approximately 170 milesnortheast of Dallas. RRAD is near the corners of 4 states - Arkansas,Louisiana, Oklahoma and Texas. The depots enormous maintenance mission includesthe repair, rebuild, overhaul and conversion of tactical wheeled vehicles. Major Duties:

· Conduct patrols by vehicle or on foot within the assigned jurisdiction.

· Pursue and apprehend persons fleeing a crime scene or attempting to resist apprehension.

· Interrogate suspects, detain witnesses and suspects, make apprehensions and perform booking procedures.

· Participate in short-term investigations.

· Enforce speed limits by operating radar or other speed detection equipment, pursue speeding vehicles, and issue citations for speeding and parking violations.

Specialized Experience:Experience that provided knowledge of a body of basic laws and regulations, lawenforcement operations, practices, and techniques and involved responsibility formaintaining order and protecting life and property. Creditable specialized experiencemay have been gained in work on a police force; through service as a militarypolice officer; in work providing visitor protection and law enforcement inparks, forests, or other natural resource or recreational environments; inperforming criminal investigative duties; or in other work that provided therequired knowledge and skills. Specialized experience is defined as;interpreting and applying laws, regulations, policies, standards, or procedures;exercising discretion in protecting the health, safety, privacy, or bestinterest of the public staff, or others who may be at risk; implementingchecklists and contingency actions in response to incidents, emergencies, andhostile or potentially hostile actions. 

 

 

 

You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency (knowledge, skills, abilities)in the following areas:

HOW YOU WILL BE EVALUATED:
