There is a vacancy for a full time registered nurse in Special Procedures. The position is for a registered nurse who provides care to a variety of patients before, during, and following special procedures in various settings. Clinical responsibilities include but are not limited to: manages the nursing care of patients receiving moderate sedation and/or having special procedures; administers moderate sedation; acts as liaison to coordinate care between special procedure area and the nursing wards/units; and possesses knowledge of and ability to perform or assist with special procedure and/or emergency procedures. The tour of duty is primarily Monday through Friday, day shift (staggered hours). The nurse reports to the Nurse Manager of the area, is under the supervision of the Director/Co-leader of the Medical Subspecialty Service Line.
Salary and grade will be determined upon qualifications and experience.
First area of consideration will be given to permanent Kansas City VAMC employees. Internal and External Candidates will be considered. This announcement may be used to fill identical positions vacated within six months of any selections made from the original announcement.
