SUMMARY OF DUTIES:  If applicants’ desire, a copy of the Position Description (PD) can be obtained from the HRO.  A brief statement of duties from PD No. __D2155000__.  This position is located in an Air National Guard Wing, Mission Support Group, Security Forces Squadron. The primary purpose of this position is to protect Federal property from hazards such as sabotage, espionage, trespass, theft, fire, and accident or willful damage and destruction. To maintain law and order, preserve the peace, and protect life and civil rights within the jurisdiction of the military installation.

BASIC ELIGIBILITY FACTORS:  Document prior experience, education, and training relating to the General and Specialized Experience requirements. KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, AND ABILITY (KSAs) are no longer basic eligibility factors, but will be used as rating and ranking factors.

1. Knowledge of the full range of security forces, and police and law enforcement services which requires considerable training, experience, and proficiency to perform the full range of operations in preventing or resolving offenses.
2.  Skill in maintaining records and reports.
3.  Knowledge of security and security forces requirements, procedures, and tactics to support installation physical security and contingency operations.
4.  Ability to use firearms in emergency situations.
5. Ability to gather facts and use effective, analytical, and established methods to accurately assess a situation and determine the appropriate course of action.
6. Ability to use automated information systems to enter and extract data and to prepare reports.

GENERAL EXPERIENCE:  Applicant must possess experience in administrative, clerical, technical, or military work that involved protecting property, equipment, data, or materials; or that involved making judgments based on the application of directions, rules, regulations, or laws.


SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:  Applicant must possess 9 months experience, education, or training in;
- Law enforcement administration. 
- Experience in basic law enforcement procedures and processes. 
- Experience reviewing law enforcement reports and maintaining records, files, forms. 
- Experience which has provided the applicant with skills in the use of firearms and other protective procedures and methods.

 

 


REQUIREMENTS

PRE-EMPLOYMENT PHYISCIAL:
Prior to full-time employment, selected individual must complete and pass a pre-placement physical examination.
 

DIRECT DEPOSIT PARTICIPATION: Selectee will be required to participate in Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer (DD/EFT) program as a condition of employment.

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT:  Selectee is subject to attaining and maintaining a security clearance as required by the position.
