4 South is a 22 bed highly acute surgical/telemetry unit. The Educator functions in a leadership role providing the highest quality of care.
The Registered Nurse Unit Based Nurse Educator is a registered, professional nurse who provides formal/informal/virtual instruction for clinicians, support staff, patients and families. The Educator practices as direct expert caregiver, administrator/coordinator, consultant, researcher, and educator roles specific to Surgical Nursing . The Unit Based Nurse Educator collaborates with multiple disciplines in the assessment, planning, organization, implementation and evaluation of an effective program including orientation, continuing education and in-services. The Unit Based Nurse Educator is a role model in demonstrating excellence in practice, serves as a clinical mentor/preceptor for clinical and administrative staff, consults and collaborates in patient care and research, and educates in both formal and informal situations. The Unit Based Nurse Educator demonstrates leadership in delivering and improving holistic care through collaborative strategies with others.
This position will require working 8-hour day tours Monday Friday with occasional rotation to off-tours to monitor services provided by team members.
The Unit Educator will also function as a direct patient care provider when necessary.
The Nurse Educator must to be experienced in surgical/telemetry nursing.
The Nurse Educator reports to the unit Nurse Manager.

- English Language Proficiency required.
