As an IT Specialist (Enterprise Architect) in the Office of the Chief Information Officer, Office of Enterprise Architecture,  you will perform information technology (IT) duties and responsibilities that involve a wide variety of tasks related to Enterprise Architecture (EA).

Salary Ranges

GS-09: $51,630.00-$67,114.00/ Per Year

GS-11: $62,467.00-$81,204.00/Per Year

GS-12: $74,872.00-$97,333.00/ Per Year

At the full performance level of this position, the incumbent will perform the following duties:

 

  • Ensures technical integration is achieved across the enterprise through test planning, validation and reviews.
  • Uses modeling techniques to document Enterprise Architecture infrastructure.
  • Recommends data standards, policies and guidelines, to maintain compliance with Government-wide and HHS Enterprise Architecture standards.
  • Advises others on the application of data architecture modeling tool sets to maintain and enhance the architectural planning process.
  • Serves as a Contracting Officer Technical Representative or Government Task Lead for projects involving contractor support for services.

IT Competencies (if Qualifying Based on Experience For All Grades)

1. Attention to Detail – Is thorough when evaluating systems, hardware, and software for efficiency.

2. Customer Service – Providing technical assistance to staff and identifying solutions.

3. Oral Communication - Effectively communicates with internal staff and external organizations to report on project status and explaining system requirements.

4. Problem Solving - Identifies and researches system design problems; uses judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations to solve problems.

GS-09: Meet the four IT competencies and have one full year of specialized experience (equivalent to the GS-7 level in the Federal service) that included: applying IT enterprise architect methods and practices to complete work assignments and projects; utilizing architecture models and standards to assist in the development of enterprise architecture plans; and providing guidance on routine IT issues.; OR possess an IT related master's degree or equivalent graduate degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or a degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks (MUST SUBMIT TRANSCRIPTS); OR possess 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education related to IT leading to a master's degree or equivalent degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or a degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks (MUST SUBMIT TRANSCRIPTS).

GS-11: Meet the four IT competencies and have one full year of specialized experience (equivalent to the GS-9 level in the Federal service) that included: applying data management regulations and rules to enterprise architecture assignments and projects; researching and recommending new IT developments to enhance an organizations enterprise architecture business processes; and provide technical guidance on the resolution of   IT issues; OR possess an IT related Ph.D. degree or equivalent doctoral degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or a degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks (MUST SUBMIT TRANSCRIPTS); OR possess 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education related to IT leading to a Ph.D degree or equivalent doctoral degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or a degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks (MUST SUBMIT TRANSCRIPTS).

GS-12: Meet the four IT competencies and have one full year of specialized experience (equivalent to the GS-11 level in the Federal service) that included: developing systems utilizing established enterprise architecture regulations, policies, and guidelines to enhance or optimize existing enterprise architecture; applying new enterprise architecture developments to resolve critical or reoccurring  IT issues; developing major components and an Enterprise Architecture plan such as sequencing plans, architectural segments, reference models or strategic drives in support of a business processes; and providing technical advice and guidance to business owners on staff on a variety of IT issues.
