You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of the announcement.
Applicant must be a qualified typist or self-certify a typing skill of 40 w.p.m. Application MUST include statement of typing speed. AND
For the GS-05, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-04 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes duties such as independently providing clerical support, typing, maintaining files and records, and screening material. OR
You may substitute education for experience as follows: four (4) years of education above the high school level. (Please attach copy of transcript or list of college courses designating semester or quarter hours earned to ensure proper credit.) OR
You may qualify by a combination of experience and education. The experience may have been gained in either the public or private sector. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.
For the GS-06, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes a variety of the following: screening callers/visitors, maintaining an electronic calendar for management, reading incoming correspondence for distribution, reviewing all outgoing correspondence to ensure proper format, using word processing software, maintaining time and attendance records, taking notes during meetings, and making travel arrangements.

If qualified, you will be assigned to one of three categories, Superior, Good, or Satisfactory, depending on your experience and education related to this position. Qualified preference-eligibles with a compensable service-connected disability of 10% or more will be listed at the top of the highest category.
