This position is located in the Consortium for Quality Improvement and Survey & Certification Operations, Division of Survey and Certification (DSC), in a Regional Office in New York, NY.

In this position you will serve as a State representative providing technical assistance on survey and certification program activities to the contracted state agencies.  Specifically, you will: 

 

• Serve as a liaison to State Agency officials and various stakeholders
• Develop recommendations for enforcement actions to be taken against long term care facilities and other providers and suppliers
• Monitor and evaluate State Agency performance, coordinate annual State Performance reviews
• Provide consultation and technical assistance on program requirements and policies to healthcare   providers, the State Agency and other CMS employees.
• Coordinate assigned tasks among other staff members to facilitate group accomplishments of goals and objectives
• Participate in studies and projects relating to the certification and enforcement program

Specialized Experience: Specialized Experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position and is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled.

Specialized experience is defined as one (1) year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the grade 12 level in the Federal service which includes: experience in the health insurance/health care area collaborating with internal and external groups to facilitate program objectives; preparing briefings to management and congressional staff using talking points or other prepared materials, and monitoring, evaluating, and coordinating day-to-day administration of Medicare and Medicaid certification and enforcement activities and data systems.
