Working Conditions: Position is in an arid desert location consisting of high temperature and primarily sunny exposure. Works in all weather conditions, often in open driver's seat exposed to noise, vibration, heat, wind, dust, dirt, blowing sand, exhaust fumes, toxic vapors and spray. Subject to possible injury caused by swinging ladder, placing of anchors, vehicular accidents, loading and unloading vehicles, or from hand or powered tools used. Subject to cuts, bruises, insect bites and stings, scrapes, burns, infections, and broken bones. Discomfort is experienced while wearing protective equipment and clothing, respirators, goggles, or face masks.
Pre-employment Physical: If selected, you are required to obtain and successfully pass a pre-employment physical examination by a licensed physician certifying to your ability to perform the duties of the position. This is not required if a comparable examination was required for placement in your current position and was completed within the last year; however, verifiable documentation of a comparable physical is required. Periodic (annual or biennial) physical examinations are required to be successfully passed for continued employment.
Optional Form 306 (OF-306): Before final selection, you will be required to sign and certify the accuracy of the information in your application. If you make a false statement in any part of your application, you may not be hired; you may be fired after you begin work; or you may be subject to fine, imprisonment, or other disciplinary action.
Background Investigation/Security Clearance: If selected, you will be subject to a background investigation as a condition of placement/retention in this position. A background investigation will be required for all new hires AND current employees who are not currently covered by a satisfactorily adjudicated Federal background investigation commensurate with the sensitivity designation of this position.
Telework: Reclamation has determined that the duties of this position are suitable for telework only during an emergency or natural disaster.
Term Appointment: This is a 3 year term assignment. The assignment may be extended up to (4) years OR may be terminated early at the supervisors discretion.
