This position is located in the Quality Production & Logistics Branch…..Code 8113 in Newport, RI. The Engineering Technician uses their extended technical experience and knowledge of engineering technology to perform technical work that involves research, analysis, and skills pertaining to undersea weapon systems. The incumbent will use and develop new methods, procedures, or innovative approaches to ensure the successful operation of programs assigned or the completion of work to meet both immediate and long-term objectives. The position performs duties as a Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) as appointed and in accordance with NAVSEA's Contracting Officer's Representative Instruction.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • Perform duties as a Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR) as appointed in accordance with the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) Contracting Officer’s Representative Instruction.
  • Use technical experience and knowledge of engineering technology to perform technical work that involves research, analysis, and skills pertaining to undersea weapon systems, specifically torpedoes.
  • Support the development of new methods, procedures, or innovative approaches leading to the successful operation of programs assigned or the completion of work to meet both immediate and long-term objectives.
  • Use technical experience and knowledge to work with Torpedo Physical/Functional Descriptions, Ordnance Alterations (ORDALT), Engineering Change Proposals, and Torpedo Systems.

Selectee is required to participate in the Department of Defense direct deposit of pay program.
