In this position you will serve as an Information Technology Specialist (Data Management) performing work related to design, development and implementation of information Technology databases.  Specifically, you will: 


  •  Identify and combat program fraud, waste and abuse in the Medicaid program.
  • Conduct data and statistical analysis to identify program integrity issues, including improper payments.
  • Analyzes large scale Information Technology databases and similar programs using skills in descriptive and multivariate data mining methods.
  • Experience working with mainframe computers.
  • Analyze data collected from a wide variety of sources to determine the nature and extent of the problem, interpret implications, and recommend options for resolution.
  • Develop and administer databases used to store and retrieve data.

For this position individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below:

  3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
  4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.

 Specialized Experience: Specialized Experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position and is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled.

Specialized experience is defined as one (1) year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the grade level 12 in the Federal service which includes:  experience analyzing, evaluating large scale information technology databases to identify and combat program fraud and abuse; recommending options for resolution to complex issues affecting Medicare and/or Medicaid data; IT systems application design and development.

2.
