Seeking highly flexible, multifunctional LPN that will perform the following functions and responsibilities: Screening and direct nursing care activities, which support the Primary Care patient, specialized procedures/functions such as but not limited to venipunctures and collection of lab specimens, finger sticks, immunizations, bladder scanning, dressing changes, performing EKG's and injections.  Computer competency in CPRS, Clinical Reminders and Appointment Management that support the Primary Care provider.  Communication skills especially in regards to telephone etiquette.  Responsible for all aspects of preparation and care for the  patient during his/her Primary Care visit.  Responsible for monitoring and tracking preventative measures for patients within the teamlet.  May cross cover other teamlet in CBOC. 

 

The LPN should possess strong interpersonal skills in order to interact with patients, families, community providers and staff members.

Requirements:

Citizenship: Citizen of the United States

Education: Graduate from a NLN accredited or State approved School of Nursing approved by the appropriate State accrediting agency at the time the program was completed

License/Registration: Current, full, active and unrestricted license/registration as a licensed practical nurse in a State, Territory or Commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia required

Required Experience: 3 years working as an LPN on a med/surg unit or (Geriatric) Nursing Home or Primary Care Practice, required 

Certification: Basic Life Support Certification required 

 

Preferred Experience:

- Competent keyboard skills, preferred

- Past experience in computerized patient records, preferred

- Past experience with Excel programs, preferred

 


EDUCATION: Graduate with a degree from a school of professional nursing approved by the appropriate State agency, and accredited by one of the following accrediting bodies at the time the program was completed by the applicant.

The National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC), an accrediting arm of the National League for Nursing or The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), an accrediting arm of the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN). FOREIGN EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:  To receive credit for education completed outside the United States, you must show proof that the education has been submitted to a private organization that specialized in interpretation of foreign educational credentials and such education has been deemed at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education programs.

To qualify for this position:

You must be a US Citizen

You must submit to a drug test and receive a negative drug test before you can be appointed to this position

You must have a licensure and registration as an LPN

You will need to successfully complete a background security investigation before you can be appointed to this position

You must pass a pre-employment medical examination

  • 38 U.S.C. 7402(d) and 7407(d) requires that persons appointed to direct patient-care positions must possess the required basic proficiency in spoken and written English.
