This position is located in the DOI, NBC, Human Resources Directorate, Human Resources Operations Division, East Branch.  The Branch provides human resource services to client agencies.

·        Provides support to HR specialists and assistance to supervisors and employees on a wide variety of human resources services, including staffing and recruitment, employee benefits, and personnel action processing/payroll liaison.

 

·        Participates in developing and issuing vacancy announcements.  Inputs vacancy announcement data into an automated recruitment system.

 

·        Codes personnel actions in an automated personnel/payroll system for all types of actions.  Interprets and applies a variety of regulatory and policy guidance in processing the full range of personnel actions.

 

·        Conducts in-processing of new employees.

Applicants for the GS-06 grade level must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-05 level.  Specialized experience is that which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled.  Specialized experience for this position includes but is not limited to processing routine personnel and payroll actions, establishing vacancy announcement files, and answering routine inquiries.

 

Applicants for the GS-07 grade level must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-06 level.  Specialized experience is that which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled.  Specialized experience for this position includes but is not limited to processing a variety of personnel and payroll actions, assisting in the preparation and issuance of vacancy announcements, answering customers' questions related to recruitment, and conducting presentations on a variety of HR topics.

 

Applicants for the GS-08 grade level must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-07 level.  Specialized experience is that which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled.  Specialized experience for this position includes but is not limited to processing complex personnel and payroll actions and resolving errors of incorrect data, generating vacancy announcements and selection certificates, resolving customer problems regarding benefit and recruitment programs, and interpreting and applying HR regulations and policies.
