Applicants for the GS-4 grade level must possess one year general experience or two years of education above the high school level. General experience is defined as progressively responsible clerical, office or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled.
Applicants for the GS-5 grade level must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-4 level.
Specialized experience is that which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. Specialized experience for this position includes but is not limited to data entry in an automated data processing sub-system which interfaces with a larger computer system; financial clerical duties such as verifying transaction amounts and resolving discrepancies in financial records; and answering phone calls or providing customer service in an office or retail setting.
A written test is not required.
A combination of education and/or experience may substitute for the specialized experience requirement.
Only education from institutions which are accredited or preaccredited/candidate for accreditation may be used to meet education requirements.

Technical Competency Automated Integrated Personnel & Payroll System - Effective use of integrated system for data management, analysis and problem identification, and performance of payroll processing to accurately and timely provide payroll services to client agencies.
