JOB SUMMARY:

HAWAII AIR NATIONAL GUARD

NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED:  This is an excepted service position that requires active military membership in a compatible military position in the Hawaii Air National Guard (HIANG). Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.  Acceptance of this position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment. Applicants who are not currently a member of the HIANG, must be eligible for immediate membership prior to full time employment in this position.

LOCATION:  Headquarters 154th Wing, Hawaii Air National Guard, Joint Base Pearl Harbor Hickam, Hawaii

RECRUITMENT AREA:   Present or former commissioned officers (O3 [promotable to O4] thru O5) of the US Air Force active duty and reserves, and Air National Guard. 

MILITARY TECHNICIAN COMPATIBILITY REQUIREMENT:  Prior to placement in this position, the selected candidate must be assigned to a valid position in the unit of employment, and be assigned militarily in DAFSC 33S1, Executive Officer.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

SUMMARY OF DUTIES:  The purpose of this position is to accomplish internal staff work which relieves the Air Commander of all but the most pressing and necessary decision and action policies in relation to base activities.  Plans, directs, and/or participates in special ANG and wing/group initiated studies and projects relating to organization, resource utilization, logistical support and readiness programs.  Acts as intermediary to solve problems and disagreements that are referred to the Air Commander.  Establishes and maintains liaison with public officials and civic groups, other reserve component activities, wing advisors and staff representatives of the respective headquarters, and the National Guard Bureau.  Duties also include legislative, public affairs and sexual assault programs. GENERAL Experience.  Experience, which provided a basic knowledge of the principles of organization, management and administration.

SPECIALIZED Experience.  Must have at least 36 months of experience in the procedures to analyze problems, to identify significant factors, gathers pertinent data and recognizes solutions.  Experience in to writing reports, policies, briefings and various correspondence.  Experience communicating clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.  Experience establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with all levels of management officials.  Experience in the knowledge of National Guard Organizational structures, functions, procedures, and techniques.

i. Final selection will be based upon qualifications, suitability, and available manpower resources.
