POSITION IS TERM NOT TO EXCEED 3 YEARS.  Term appointments may be eligible for extension or for noncompetitive conversion to a career or career-conditional appointment in the competitive service at the discretion of management and in accordance with applicable regulations.


This position is established as a senior level position in the Information Technology career path for STRL.  Incumbent will perform duties as Information Specialist in support of USSSOUTHCOM.  Position is located at Homestead AFB, FL.   


Locality pay of 20.79% will be added to base salary.

  • Selectee may be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
  • You must obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.

·         Responsible for conducting Eye Retina Network Vulnerability scans to audit, monitor, and report on JWICS networks in the AOR to ensure systems are in compliance with the Network Security Updates and versions.

·         Prepare reports of IAVM and ICVM compliance data and submit to the SE RSC.

·         Prepare, review and track progress reports of Plan of Action Milestones for JWICS, SIPRNET, and NIPRNET LANs as required and updated VMS for SIPRNET, and NIPRNET systems.

·         Manage Incident reports, conduct surveys, record, track eradication, and report to appropriate levels all security incidents.

·         Prepare, edit, update, and enforce all information assurance policies and standard operating procedures.

·         Provide Security Engineering Guidance throughout all systems integration process.  

·         Prepare Certification and Accreditation (C&A) packages for all DIA systems with IDC 503 and DIACAP formats.

·         Maintain current DIA IAONESOURCE and DSCR databases.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the N0-04 (GS-12 equivalent) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector for the following duties: 


Examples of specialized experience include:  ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of systems, networks, and data through the planning, analysis, development, implementation, maintenance, and enhancement of information systems security programs, policies, procedures, and tools. AND I have IT-related experience demonstrating the following four competencies:  ATTENTION TO DETAIL - I am able to review data from multiple sources and determine relevant information to a given situation.  I draft, edit and disseminate written reports and status updates that are factual, timely and relatively error free; CUSTOMER SERVICE - I develop and maintain relationships with customers with diverse needs. I provide technical information about products and services. I assess the needs of customers and identify or tailor products and/or services to meet their needs. I resolve non-routine problems, questions, or complaints and direct the most complex problems, questions, or complaints to the appropriate person; ORAL COMMUNICATION - I communicate, explains, or defends ideas or information clearly. I listen to others and recognize potential miscommunication; PROMBLEM SOLVING- I use logic to identify alternatives to solve technical problem. I Identify and solve problems by gathering and applying information from a variety of materials or sources that provide several alternatives.
