Moves and controls heavy cleaning equipment; assists in moving heavy equipment, and mechanical hospital beds. (approximately 350 pounds average).
Frequently lifts and moves objects over 40 pounds and occasionally weighing over 80 pounds.
The work is performed indoors in areas, which normally have adequate head, light, and ventilation.
Incumbent is required to wear protective clothing (cap, gown, gloves, mask, overshoes) and follow scrub techniques.
Works around areas utilizing high-pressure combustible gases and electrical equipment.
Incumbent is exposed to patients having contagious diseases and an environment conducive to nosocomial (hospital-induced) infections.
Incumbent is required to clean and remove unpleasant nauseating items.
Incumbent is subject to contaminated waste during the collecting, removal and disposal process.
