The Naval Intelligence Community spans across many organizations that provide direct support to the Navy, Marine Corps, U.S. Coast Guard and various Joint and Fleet Commands.   Gain an understanding of the roles and responsibilities of the Navy relative to the broader Intelligence Community and work side by side with your fellow companions throughout the DOD and various other intelligence agencies. 

 

Serves as Deputy to the Plans and Policy Director at GG 15 level that relates to areas such as Operational Planning Teams Crisis Action Planning processes, or Joint Operations Planning and Execution System support future capabilities of Fleet Cyber Command and US TENTH Fleet Maritime Operations Center.  This position is located in Fort Meade, MD.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • You must be a US Citizen.
  • Suitable for Federal employment as determined by background investigation.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Clearance.
  • This position is a Drug Testing Designated Position (TDP).
  • May be required to successfully complete a polygraph examination.

  • Understand and can lead Maritime Operations Center (MOC) Joint/Navy Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (NTTP) with specific knowledge in Maritime Planning that relates to areas such as Operational Planning Teams (OPTs), Crisis Action Planning (CAP) processes, or Joint Operations Planning and Execution System (JOPES).
  • Review FLTCYBERCOM Headquarters and field site missions, functions and tasks for accuracy and merit.
  • Develop and lead long term capabilities development and integration to include complex, concise business case studies and models to determine appropriate resources (such as developing staff estimates to address operational environment changes)  to identify and advocate for resources necessary to achieve desired mission effects.
  • Build and maintain close and continuous liaison with the offices of USFF, USCYBERCOM, Combatant Commanders, all Service Cryptologic Components and other Intelligence agencies as appropriate.
  • Must be adept at the Strategic level of operations and possess a holistic view of operation and planning as on concerted effort.

Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled and has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities, to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Conduct reviews and analysis of mission, function and tasks against long term requirements to identify operation and strategic capabilities; 2) Develop, analyze and evaluate future capabilities of information systems for cyber, networks, cryptology, signal intelligence, information operations, electronic warfare and space.

REQUIREMENTS:

All new DCIPS employees must successfully complete a two-year trial period.

 

All Defense Intelligence positions under the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS) are in the excepted service by specific statute, 10 U.S.C. 1601.This position is in the excepted service. Non-DCIPS applicants selected for a DCIPS position must acknowledge in writing, prior to actual appointment to the DCIPS position, that the position for which he or she has been selected is in the excepted service and covered by DCIPS. Federal employees currently serving in the competitive service must also acknowledge that they will voluntarily leave the competitive service by accepting an offer of employment for a DCIPS position. This acknowledgement is necessary as movement between the excepted service and competitive service may be limited if the employee does not possess competitive status.

 

Selectee must complete a Special Background investigation and receive a favorable adjudication by a determining authority.  A Top Secret security clearance is a requirement of this position and access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).
