JOB SUMMARY:

Civilian employees serve a vital role in supporting the Army mission.  They provide the skills that are not readily available in the military, but crucial to support military operations.  The Army integrates the talents and skills of its military and civilian members to form a Total Army.

About the Position:  Vacancy is located with Directorate of Aircraft Production.  This job provides the opportunity to support the mission of the Corpus Christi Army Depot; which is to overhaul, repair, modify, retrofit, test and modernize helicopters, engines and components for all services and foreign military customers. The Corpus Christi Army Depot (CCAD) is the Army’s Center of Industrial and Technical Excellence for Rotary Wing Aviation Maintenance and is the world’s largest helicopters overhaul and repair facility. CCAD serves as the depot training base for active duty Army, National Guard, Reserve and foreign military personnel. We also provide worldwide on-site maintenance services, aircraft crash analysis, lubricating oil analysis, and chemical, metallurgical and training support. Positions include those providing support to the maintenance of helicopters in a variety of shops or in an office setting.

Conduct examinations, and evaluations of a variety Of Army, Navy, and/or Air Force aircraft, inclusive of the different systems, subsystems, components, and subcomponents and parts thereof, Either within the assigned workload of CCAD, or for aircraft assigned to foreign countries or different contractors for the purpose of determining the depth and scope of the necessary repair, overhaul, and/or modification required to return such aircraft to a serviceable condition in accordance with the applicable Project Directive or customer specifications.

SCREEN OUT ELEMENT: Your resume must indicate your ability to provide production support services as an Aircraft Examiner (General).   Resumes will be reviewed for production support services to examine and evaluate Pave Hawk/Black Hawk rotary wing aircraft components and determine serviceability In Accordance With (IAW) tech data (i.e. technical order, technical manuals, Depot Maintenance Work Requirement and technical drawings);  Read, interpret and research prints; Trouble shoot avionic, electrical, and electronic components and systems.

Experience and/or training which provided skills and knowledge of (1) Knowledge of Equipment Assembly, Installation, Repair etc. (2) Use of Test Equipment: Electronics (3) Theory of Electronics (4) Ability To use hand and power tools-Electronics (5) Trouble-shooting (Electronic Equipment) (6) Ingenuity (Ability to Suggest and apply new methods).

PHYSICAL EFFORT: May require long periods of walking and standing. Maybe required to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance, and over 35 pounds with assistance from another worker or weight handling equipment. Climbs on aircraft and workstands. When performing physical analysis and tasks work involves bending, stooping, reaching, and standing in/on top and around the aircraft being examined.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Works both inside and outside Subjected to possible eyestrain. There are hazards involved while working in and around shop operations, while accomplishing physical analysis tasks, and from close proximity to main rotor and tail rotor blades while in operation. Exposes to dirt, dust, noise, and grease during examinations conducted.
