The St Louis District Office is seeking a motivated, dynamic, and talented individual to join their Lender Relations team.  You will be a representative of the District Office in matters relating to lender relation activities.  You will be the point of contact for the SBA’s loan programs and the operational procedures of financial institutions.  Your communication skills will be utilized to develop professional relationships with the Lenders.  You will serve as the point of contact for Community and Rural Lenders, as well as Low Activity and non-participating SBA Lenders.  Your expertise will be put to work assisting Lenders, within the District, with strength and weakness analysis as it pertains to SBA marketing, loan processing, and/or liquidation guidance. 

You will spend at least 25% of the time leading journey level, GS-12 Lender Relations Specialists. You will serve as a team leader, planning, assigning, and reviewing work of the team; setting and adjusting short term priorities to assure production and accuracy requirements are met; advising, counseling and instructing team members on production and technical matters. You will motivate individual team members to be full participants in accomplishing the work of the team and to meet time requirements.

GS-13: One year of specialized experience at the GS-12 level in the Federal service which includes experience such as planning, organizing and reviewing work; performing technical reviews on commercial loan packages and related financial documents and providing information regarding commercial loan programs, the applications process and lender eligibility requirements in a financial or banking environment.

Education is not qualifying for this position.


Occasional travel may be required.  Occasional weekend and evening travel may required.

Ability to build and develop relationships with lenders to include counseling, assistance and facilitation through one-on-one interaction. 

Skill in writing to develop information programs for diverse audiences of various levels of understanding and sophistication.
