GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education, or training which has provided the applicant with a knowledge of equipment maintenance work, or skill in reading engineering drawings and specifications, using test instruments, making computations, and keeping records. Experience using computer and automation systems.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-11 requires 36 months experience in applying principles, concepts, and methods of equipment, facility, or service operations sufficient in designing projects or planning assignments. Experience using well-established occupational methods and techniques to determine facility, grounds, equipment overhaul, maintenance, restoration, repair needs, printing design layout, etc. Experience working and serving as the contractor representative to ensure compliance with the contract scheduling and sequence of operations. Experience coordinating work forces and resources and negotiating with management or clients concerning problems. Experience in managing the function of the work to be performed. Experience which includes leading, directing, and assigning work of personnel.

MILITARY COMPATIBILITY: Upon selection, individual must be assigned to a compatible military position and must also maintain satisfactory membership in the Minnesota National Guard.
Upon selection, individuals will undergo a background check to validate suitability for employment with the federal government as permitted by law, regulation, Presidential order or other authority. Suitability is dependent upon the particular requirements for security clearance, sensitivity level, and DOD IT network access. Items checked include, but are not limited to all criminal history record information, employment history, education and fiscal accountability/responsibility.
EVALUATION FACTORS: Candidates will be evaluated on the basis of appropriate education, experience, training, self-development activities, and special awards. Candidates are considered on the basis of available information on their current application and supporting information that has been provided to this office. To ensure full consideration, applicants are urged to submit information about their training, self-development, outside experience, activities and awards. National Guard military (Part-time) service is considered as full-time experience when evaluated against the qualification requirements for a technician position. The applicant is credited with actual number of months the member has been in the National Guard if the experience is related.
HOW YOU WILL BE EVALUATED:
AREAS OF PRIORITY: In accordance with MN National Guard Regulation 690-335 (Army) or 36-1 (Air), applications will be forwarded to the selecting official to conduct interviews by area of priority listed below:
Area 1: Career/Career-Conditional Technicians assigned to the Minnesota Army National Guard.
Area 2: Indefinite Technicians assigned to the Minnesota Army National Guard who were initially hired based on a posted job vacancy.
Area 3: Career/Career-Conditional and Indefinite Minnesota Air National Guard Technicians Statewide (133rd Airlift Wing and 148th Fighter Wing) who were initially hired based on a posted job vacancy.
Area 4: National Guard technicians from other states, Minnesota National Guard technicians who have not previously competed, traditional National Guard members, and civilian persons eligible for membership in the Minnesota Army National Guard.
