This is a position in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). The duties of this position are equivalent to those at the GS/GG-13.
To qualify for this position at the GG-13 level you must have specialized experience equivalent to the GS/GG-12 grade level. Specialized Experience is defined as Senior level knowledge of advanced information technology (IT) principles, concepts, methods, standards, and practices relating to information systems security in order to function as the technical authority for information systems security issues, as well as, extensive knowledge of common computer operating systems, networking fundamentals and architecture, and network security devices.
For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. The employing agency is responsible for identifying the specific level of proficiency required for each competency at each grade level based on the requirements of the position being filled.

Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.
Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.

SECURITY REQUIREMENTS: Critical Sensitive (Top Secret)
This position requires a Top Secret security clearance - This position is designated critical sensitive, as defined in DoD 5200.2-R, Personnel Security Program, and therefore requires that a personnel security investigation be adjudicated for security eligibility on a pre-appointed basis. This requirement may take 120 days or longer to process.
A two-year trial period appointment will be required; if a trial period has not been previously completed.
Position may require frequent temporary duty travel (TDY).
Position is subject to random counterintelligence-scope polygraph examinations.
Must possess the legal and personal qualifications to operate passenger-type motor vehicle.
It is a requirement to be certified within twelve months of the appointment date (if not already certified) in information Assurance from a recognized certification body such as the Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP) from; the International information Systems Security Certification Consortium (ISC2), the Certified Information System Manager (CISM), the Certified Information System Auditor (ISA) from the Information Systems Audit and Control Association, or Global Information Assurance Certificate from the SANS Institute.

2. Knowledge of Information systems security principles, controls, and related disciplines.
3. Knowledge of computer security technologies, objectives, problems and solutions.
4. Ability to serve as subject matter expert within the Industrial Security community.
5. Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
