JOB SUMMARY:

Serves as a Deputy Department Head of the Naval Warfare Department within NIMITZ Operational Intelligence Center at the GG-15 equivalent.  Leads the department’s mission and oversees analysis, reporting, database maintenance and collection requirements for current intelligence and long term research relating to naval/maritime warfare to meet the demand signal for operational intelligence from the fleet.  The department consists of the Submarine Warfare Operational Research Division (SWORD), Surface Analysis Branch for Evaluation and Reporting (SABER), Strike Projection Evaluation Anti-Air Warfare Research (SPEAR), and SPECTRUM Information Dominance Warfare Division.  This position is located at the Office of Naval Intelligence, Nimitz Operations Intelligence Center, (OIC), Naval Warfare in Suitland, MD.

  •  - Oversees analysis, reporting database maintenance and collection requirements for the department. 
  •  - Focus the analysis on all-source intelligence research and analysis of foreign submarine / antisubmarine warfare (ASW), surface ship and naval aviation warfare (ASUW/AAW) operations, tactics, training, and readiness, computer network threat operations and tactics, foreign network command and control (C2) and intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR). 
  •  - Produce assessments in these areas that meet the requirements of customers in the war fighting, policymaking, and acquisition communities.   
  •  - Responsible for assisting in every aspect of leading and managing the department in support of mission accomplishment, consistent with the principles of continuous process improvement.
  •  - Provide motivation and leadership for achieving highest levels of proficiency.
  •  - Maintain extensive liaison with customers to obtain actionable feedback on the department’s products and define/update customer requirements.

Specialized experience must demonstrate some or all of the following:  1)  Plan, defend, allocate, and execute the annual budget.  2)  Manage personnel resources in accordance with priorities and objectives.  3)  Guide and manage the intelligence research analysis and production so it consistently meets standards and customer requirements.  4)  Maintain extensive liaison with customers to actionable feedback on the department’s products and define/update customer requirements.    5)  Conduct all-source intelligence research and analysis of foreign submarine warfare surface ship and aviation warfare, computer network threat operations and foreign network command and control.

REQUIREMENTS: 

Selectee is required to participate in the Department of Defense direct deposit of pay program.

All new DCIPS employees must successfully complete a two-year trial period. 

 

Selectee must complete a Special Background investigation and receive a favorable adjudication by a determining authority.  A Top Secret security clearance is a requirement of this position and access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). Failure to obtain and maintain this required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a position offer or removal.   If you possess a security clearance, please indicate the level and termination date in your resume.

This acknowledgement is necessary as movement between the excepted service and competitive service may be limited if the employee does not possess competitive status.
