NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED: This is an excepted position that requires membership in a compatibility assignment in the National Guard. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.
AREA OF CONSIDERATION:
AREA I: All New Jersey National Guard (NJNG) Technicians
AREA II: All Members of the NJNG
If a New Jersey Air National Guard (NJANG) member is selected, the person must transfer to the NJARNG, and may be required to attend U.S. Army Basic Training. Applicant may contact an Army National Guard Recruiter.
If the individual selected is currently on a title 10 tour no action can be taken until he/she is released from tour.
Mandatory Training: IAW Professional Education Center (PEC) FY11 & FY12 Mandatory Full-Time Support (FTS) Training (ARNG-HRH Policy Memorandum 10-039), the individual selected for this position will be scheduled for training at PEC within six months of employment. Scheduling the required training is a condition of employment. Unless there are extenuating circumstances, failure of new FTS personnel to complete National Guard Bureau prescribed courses at PEC within the first year of employment, may be cause for reassignment to other full-time positions dependant on vacancy availability or termination of employment.

Applicants with an enlisted rank that exceeds the maximum advertised rank for the position may be considered. Applicant must provide a statement with their resume/application which indicates their willingness to accept a reduction in military rank. If selected, reduction in military rank is required to prevent grade inversion. Air/Army Officers and Army Warrant Officers may be allowed to reduce their Officer/Warrant Officer rank to Enlisted only. Military recruiters can provide Air/Army Officers and Army Warrant Officers with specifics applicable to the applicant.
